Description
Historian Tom Vince shares a story about the Cackler family in Franklin Township. Christian Cackler, Sr. from PA, served in the Revolutionary War and moved to Hudson Township. His son, 12-year-old Christian Cackler Jr. survived 6 weeks on his own and later wrote the notable "Recollections of an old Settler" about life in pioneer Hudson. He knew David Hudson, John and Owen Brown, Heman Oviatt, and left us his memories.
